Our Approach
Our motto is: what happens between therapy sessions is just as important as what happens during the session itself. We work with families and carers to develop strategies that can be used in every day life.
Collaborative
Collaborative practice involves working as a part of a team. We place importance on working alongside families, educators/teachers and other key groups involved in a child's development and care. We acknowledge that families know their child best, and therefore they are the experts in the team.
Evidence Based
On the Move Therapy is legally and ethically bound to provide evidence based services. We consider 3 parameters of evidence when providing assessment and intervention:
1) The best and most up-to-date research
2) Clinical experience and knowledge
3) Families own personal goals, values and beliefs
Meaningful to Daily Life
We target goals that translate into a child and families daily life. We focus on working with families and carers to ensure children develop functional skills that supports greater participation in the home and community.
Outcomes Focused
On the Move Therapy is focused on optimising 'real world' outcomes for children and families. We set clear goals, review progress each session and plan ahead to be sure that therapy is effective.
